It's Official

Last night I stood up in front of my students and leaders and let them know that I will be done being a youth pastor on April 20th. It was extremely difficult to say, and the shocked looks didn't help either. But it also felt good to get it out there.

Please be praying for me. I spent my whole adult life wanting to be a youth pastor, but now that I realize it's not where I belong, or even want to be, it leaves me kinda hanging.

Peace,
Matt

definitely praying for you friend. Tough decisions to make and follow through with in front of your ministry.

God always shows up sooner or later though. He always does.

I got your back sir. Hard sorts of decisions usually merit well-earned character development. That's my experience. Hopefully it will be yours.

Hey Matt,
Not sure if you'll remember me, we sent a few emails back and forth a little over a year ago, anyway I've been reading your blog since then and just today saw your post about ministry. As someone who is in youth ministry now, and who has very similar theological convictions to your own I wondered if I could pick your brain about what brought you to your decision? Forgive me for the personal question.
peace of Christ,
Charlie

wow...
"vocation" has a way of throwing curve balls at us, huh? I'm still (re)discovering what it means to be called myself...

Hi Matt, I'm praying for you as you and your family enter into this new season. I hope that God will make clear your next steps. Thanks for the faithful ministry you have done these past years.
